Eric LeGrand is a former Rutgers University football player who became a symbol of resilience after sustaining a spinal cord injury in 2010 that left him paralyzed from the neck down. Despite the life-altering injury, LeGrand has transformed his experience into a platform for inspiration and advocacy.​

In recognition of his perseverance, LeGrand received several honors:​

Sports Illustrated's "Best Moment of 2011": Awarded for his return to the Rutgers football field during a game against West Virginia, symbolizing hope and determination.​

Jimmy V Award for Perseverance at the 2012 ESPY Awards: This award honors individuals who have overcome great obstacles through perseverance and determination.​

WWE Hall of Fame's Warrior Award in 2017: Presented to individuals who exhibit unwavering strength and perseverance, and who live life with the courage and compassion that embodies the indomitable spirit of The Ultimate Warrior.

Fulfilling a lifelong dream, LeGrand was signed to a symbolic professional contract by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2012, under the leadership of his former college coach, Greg Schiano. ​

He founded Team LeGrand in partnership with the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, raising over $2 million for spinal cord injury research.
