Jeevan is a Project Management Professional (PMP) with over 30 years of experience, including 17 years in multiple divisions at NJDOT, most recently as the Section Chief for Safety Programs Management section within the Bureau of Safety, Bicycle and Pedestrian Programs managing and administering the Highway Safety Improvement Program and providing safety subject matter expertise on a wide variety of analyses, programs, projects, and initiatives. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, as well as multiple Master's degrees, including one in Environmental Engineering, another in Highway Engineering, and a final degree in Transportation Engineering, along with a Master's Certificate in Project Management. She is also a graduate of the Freight Operations Academy and the Regional Operations Forum. She has represented the NJDOT as an NCHRP Panel member for safety research, at the Connected Vehicle Pooled Fund Study, and on multiple AASHTO subcommittees and working groups for Safety and Connected and Autonomous Vehicles, as well as serving on technical paper review committees for the TRB. Jeevan is a firm believer in the Safe System Approach, which aims to eliminate fatalities for all road users. She takes every opportunity to highlight and promote the safety achievements and innovations in New Jersey, with active participation of and collaboration with our local and regional partners. She proudly leads a small but mighty team. Her team administered a record Highway Safety Improvement Program in FFY 2024, with over $125 million authorized for projects, including nearly 60% for projects aimed at improving safety for vulnerable road users. Outside of work, she also volunteers her time on advisory boards of multiple non-profit organizations.
