The theme for NASTO 2025, Advancing Safety Through Innovation, reflects the collective commitment of transportation leaders to enhance roadway safety through cutting-edge solutions and forward-thinking strategies. As transportation agencies across the Northeast and beyond face evolving challenges—from increasing traffic volumes to integrating emerging technologies—this theme emphasizes the importance of innovation as a catalyst for creating safer roads and systems for all users.
The theme was chosen to address the urgent need for creative and impactful approaches to reduce roadway fatalities and injuries, protect vulnerable road users, and ensure the well-being of transportation workers and the traveling public.
